A new year! I realise I say this as we are moving into February - oops! Better late then never, ay? :) So here's this years first update, and it's a few little speedy thumbnails I did in my spare time, just practising composition and depth. :)

A new pic!! I have no idea what's going on with this one, to be honest..I was just playing around with some textures and lighting, when suddenly this floating ball appeared! :O It looks very solomn...but what is it? Some say it's an ancient god...others say a demon, trapped in the cave, waiting to be awoken. It looks peaceful...but I'm not sure I'd trust it. : |
I just got the new Color and Light book as a christmas pressie from Dennis and Vikor - what a great gift!! I will definitely be reading this over the holidays, and hopefully can apply it to my own stuff more :)
Orrriiiiiiiiite guys n gals! Thought it was time for a character pic, so here's a beautiful zombie lady, who was on her way out to a party, when she got bitten....oh dear. :/ Either that, or she had a very rough night, haha! Didn't spend too long on this, fancy doing a longer piece at some stage...Thought I'd add the black and white version also.

Just a quick sketchy pic I did this evening whilst watching the tv show Supernatural....hmmm! There's nothing in it that looks like this (yet! I'm on series 4) Just playing around with a lil technique Truds is doing too atm, pulling images out of textures and shapes, tis fun. :)
On saturday I am on an adventure to Amsterdam with a few mates from here and London, plus meeting other friends there, yay! Hopefully it'll inspire me for more crazy pics :D
Ooo forgot to put up my quick sketch - did this late on friday evening; no point to it, was just playing around with textures, and then suddenly this lady with Flea riding in her hat emerged! :O Fun to do quick sketches, always end up with somethng you didn't intend or expect. :)
Allo again - here's the environment pic I was talking about :) A nice happy, quiet market...with 2 cats having a little roam around. :) Why is the white one following the black...? Will do a more bleak one next, this is almost too 'cheerful', hehe.
Oops! Bit of a gap from my last update - naughty me. Buuuuuut...I have been ultra-busy at work, doing tons of environments, which I *really* wish I could show here....maybe 1 day. :) I'm working on a nice environment I can post here at the mo', hopefully will make an appearance in the next few days. For now, here's an experimental sketch I did, just playing around with different shapes and texture brushes...til it formed a monster :D Eeek, bit of a nightmare figure...Would like to try and finish this (after the environment though!)
As I mentioned before, am trying to do better with my environment stuff, and have been (at work tho, so can't show here, bah) But I *have* been working on little environment sketches, thanks to amazing artist and co-worker Dennis Chan, who suggested this little exercise. :) Work on a pic for less than an hour, specifically environments for me. Am loving sky images right now! I have a few more I will post at some stage. :)
Uhoh....there's going to be a huge fight here, and nothing's going to stand in their way!!....Or...maybe they are meeting for a chat? Have been trying out environments; this is a slight rework of an image I did aaaages ago, but now that I'm concentrating on environments, could make it much better :) Last post for awhile, am going on holiday soon back to 'sunny' England, yay! :D
Time for an update :) Just a lil pic I did in my spare time, of a creepy lady with even creepier hair and 3 weird horns. I used to love designing head dresses like this in university...*nostalgic sigh*

Time for another update! This is the latest monster for the competition over at CGHub - the idea behind this one is a monster that's masquerading as a hill, digging into the ground and then anxiously waiting...It lures unsuspecting creatures/humans by the bright flowers that sit on it's face. Closer they get..closer...then SNAP! I hear you ask 'if it's so big, why doesn't it just walk around and grab and eat what it wants? Why the pretense?'...because it's much more fun ;D
Orriiiiite - been inspired to do some character stuff, so I thought I'd do a little series of sci-fi clothing designs. I wanted her to look feminine yet not too skimpy (tho one of them might be ;p) These were very quick to do, just flat colour and tiny bit of shading, if any..Would be nice to maybe do a more rendered version. Incidentally, my fave is the first one!
Armour Llama! Back again, this time with the girl featured in my last animatic/storyboard :) Are they friends? Is it real? Is she real? The Armour Llama comes to those in trouble, though the girl looks pretty calm and pleased now. :)
Orriiiiiiiiiiiite.....this is an evil Centaur, attacking a small village - the Guardian has summoned a demon (Flea) who will protect them!This is for a competition over on CGhub to design and electrical centaur thing, and this is my entry. :) Just for fun! I need to practise shading more though....and environments...blah blah blah ;D
New post, just of an Armoured Llama! I love llama (and alpacas) they'd make interesting battle rides ;D Anyway, not happy with this picture at all, I started to hate it halfway through colouring...but thought I might as well post it anyway. Might see more on this theme anyway when I put some proper effort in. ;D
Creature! Needed to draw something weird :) This is a ram/goat/lion thing! I like it's spindly little legs, it isn't a creature made for fighting despite trying to look intimidating - maybe it's it's defence mechanism...
Some little bits and pieces - first is a room with lots of pc screens and general mess (perfect!) and the next is a quick sketch of a crack in the ground, yay!Need to do more, moooore
