App background concepts!

Oops, been awhile again since my last update, but I will use the 'recently moved to Berlin' excuse ;D Posting some work from last year - I freelanced for a company called Finger Food Studios in Vancouver for a few weeks, helping create different themed backgrounds for an app they were creating (for EA) It since took a different direction, but I thought to post the concepts for it anyway. :)

So in the middle of the screen was going to be a video, and around it a different theme. The lower part of the screen had to be relatively flat and empty for item placement.
First off we have a 'fantasy' themed one:

Next is a Western themed one.

Next a mountainous footpath.

Next a country barn.

 Next a golf course.

 And lastly, a sci-fi themed pic. :) 

I did a few more, but these are the ones I'm happiest with. ;) They're well over 6 months old tho, could be vastly improved. : |

Crysis 3 concepts

I'm working on Pearl's Peril - you're gonna love it!

Anyways, the point of this post was to post some of my old Crysis 3 work I did on the very early stages of C3 whilst I was still at Crytek. Please take into consideration this stuff of mine is 10 years old (blaaah) and I did a lot more than just the examples I've shown here, but these are the ones I'm still vaguely happy with. :P Sooooo, enjoy!

Bit different, but yesterday I was walking along the main shopping street here in Frankfurt near the Christmas market, and was stopped by a lady and photographer, who were very interested in my hat and why I chose it! Well, it's an animal hat with fluffy ears, what's not to like?? Anyways, they were from the German national newspaper the Bild, and the pic was in todays paper, yay! (and damn I shouldn't have given my real age, haha) Should I be proud of this or not?? ;)

Card illustrations for 5th Planet Games!

Hey guys and gals! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, but I've been busy doing a freelance job for the super cool 5th Planet Games, working on cards/items for Dawn of the Dragons and Clash of the Dragons! Since it's a very fast paced process, the cards are released online already pretty quickly, so I can post them here, plus a higher res version to see better. There'll be a few more to come once they're released, enjoy! Some of the cards I drew and coloured, others just coloured, and others I just added new elements to. :)

Trees, trees and more trees!

I really do enjoy drawing trees; they're beautiful and just fun to draw. :) After yesterdays realism, it's back to stylised, this being more in the vein of asset type trees that could be used in mobile games. Mainly draw with Illustrator but a bit of PS in there too. :)

Red and green!!

Aaaahh, a nice, tranquil, Japanese garden (with a blue cat keeping an eye on things) but most importantly - red and green!! I do love complimentary colours. ;)

Thought it was time for another environment art, and I drew this to combat the grey weather outside. :)

Illustrator playtime!

^ As the title says! Just felt like doing a weird fashiony pic, and again I love the boldness of Illustrator, very 'chunky', it's like I almost wish I could eat it! So yes, here we see a horned girl with her trusty horned side kick. :3

Autumn has well and truely started - and I LOVE it! Nice and cold weather, means we can all wrap up warm in cool coats and big chunky scarves and animal hats! So the cool weather inspired a slightly 'gloomy' pic - with some cuteness. :) Kebab the hedgehog walks through a spooky forest, giving off a faint glow (maybe he's radioactive?) An Illustrator pic this time, I love the 'boldness' of it. :)

Happy Halloween people!! One of the best holidays :D I did a little pic to celebrate, dark weirdness :)

Time for an update! Been super busy, what with birthdays and a friend visiting (not to mention my own birthday!) so here's the sketches, paintings and scarves that have been made in the meantime!
