Pearl's Peril concepts

Hellooooo! ...............Oops, it's been a LONG while since I last updated :x Sorry about that, been super busy, but at least now I can share some of the work I've been doing at Wooga on Pearl's Peril. :) Now, pleeeease take into consideration a lot of this is older stuff - I can't show all my snazzy latest stuff, as those chapters aren't released yet!

These are concepts for the environments for the hidden object game, Pearl's Peril - most were done in roughly 8 hours (including research, plannings etc) These concepts were then sent on to the outsourcers who made them in 3D and then overpainted and placed in textures, for a more realistic look. We could of course do it here, but our outsourcers do a fab job, and it would take us way too much time. :) And ofc these are only a selection of them; there's way more but I don't like them enough to show, hehe.

Pearl's Peril is a really lovely colourful game, so we can go quite wild with colours (which I LOVE) - so high contrasts, complimentaries and intensity, yay! As more chapters get released, I'll be able to update more work (and you'll see it get better ;) so stay tuned!

My very first scene - and I had to blow up Pearl's beloved plane, aaaww

App background concepts!

Oops, been awhile again since my last update, but I will use the 'recently moved to Berlin' excuse ;D Posting some work from last year - I freelanced for a company called Finger Food Studios in Vancouver for a few weeks, helping create different themed backgrounds for an app they were creating (for EA) It since took a different direction, but I thought to post the concepts for it anyway. :)

So in the middle of the screen was going to be a video, and around it a different theme. The lower part of the screen had to be relatively flat and empty for item placement.
First off we have a 'fantasy' themed one:

Next is a Western themed one.

Next a mountainous footpath.

Next a country barn.

 Next a golf course.

 And lastly, a sci-fi themed pic. :)

I did a few more, but these are the ones I'm happiest with. ;) They're well over 6 months old tho, could be vastly improved. : |

Also big news - Pearl's Peril, the game I've been helping out on, has been released!! It's free to play through Facebook, so why not give it a try! Click here, go on - http://www.wooga.com/games/pearlsperil/ And congrats to the *awesome* team for doing such a fab job!

http://www.wooga.com/2013/02/next-generation-wooga-games/

I'm working on Pearl's Peril - you're gonna love it!

Anyways, the point of this post was to post some of my old Crysis 3 work I did on the very early stages of C3 whilst I was still at Crytek. Please take into consideration this stuff of mine is 10 years old (blaaah) and I did a lot more than just the examples I've shown here, but these are the ones I'm still vaguely happy with. :P Sooooo, enjoy!

Overgrown Pinger attacking a tank...the poor guy died escaping ;)

The Heavy enemy was always my fave - so stubby

Dramatic death-pose ;p

There was an idea for a little spider bot thing, like a boid that would run around

A more finished version...
